| Ohmeeohmy... it's been a while... So, Chris and I are doing great. He's an incredible sweetheart. We just moved into a new apartment. This one is a bit cheaper, slightly larger (though still a 1 BR, grar!) and it doesn't have people getting arrested for smoking pot and other people going to jail for credit card theft/fraud/stolen identity, so hey, it's all good... We went to DC for Christmas vacation to spend it at my parent's house, although I really don't feel like it was a vacation at all! I mean it was really great to get to see my family and get to spend so much time with them and all, but we were basically built in babysitters for the whole trip. I guess if i was my mom, though, who was about ready to pop with her fifth baby with an 8 year old and a 3 year old plus two cousins, maybe ages 9 and 6 running around the house and i had my daughter and her new hubby there visiting, i might have taken advantage of me, too. Chris joked that it was my parents evil scheme to get us from having kids any time soon. I don't want kids until I'm done with my Bachelor's Degree and until I've had a steady job for 6 months to a year. Too many other things to worry about right now. When we weren't watching the kids, we were out visiting Chris's extended family. It was my first time meeting most of them. Mom threw us a "hey, we're married" party for those of our close family friends who were unable to make it to the wedding, so that was fun. I got to see a lot of people that I hadn't seen in a ong time, which was really nice, and also meet some people that are important but i had no idea who they were. Chris is all excited because my stepdad's boss and his wife gave us towels as a gift and his boss is one of the highest ranking officers in the army today, so he got a kick out of that. I think it's funny. Well, Chris's life is pretty much school and work and mine is pretty much work and looking for another job. Oh yeah. But speaking of work, I have to go write up some lesson plans for some classes I'm teaching tonight. Oh yeah! | | |
| I um... thought it was supposed to be dead week. | | |
| Oh, my gosh, you guys, I'm married. heeheehee! Chris is so cute! | | |
| Oh my gosh. I am going crazy. I'm in the Mac Lab after doing a bajillion things (literally, i counted.) all day and I'm exhausted. I really don't want to be doing homework right now. I had this grand idea that I would be finished in an hour and a half and that I would have no distractions and be in bed by 1:30 am, 2 am at the latest, but these fricking idiots in the front of the classroom have been blabbing about Chop Suey by System of a Down for about an hour and a half and I'm going crazy. I was doing a pretty good job of toning it out but then they started doing seriously analytical comparisons between Tool and System of a Down, their song make ups and their albums. I'm not going to say that I dislike Chop Suey, or that I dislike Tool, but i just can't focus. In a last desperate attempt to get them to shut up so i could do my homework and go home and curl up in my big warm bed, I asked them if they minded if i put on a cd because I was hitting a wall and wanted to stay awake so I could finish my work. They said it was fine, they didn't care. Great, I thought! I'll introduce them to something a bit different while shutting them up! I decided to start slowly so as not to scare them away from anything that isn't mainstream. So I put on Interpol- Turn on the Bright Lights. After about 10-20 seconds of the cd being on, they turned on some website with background musicor m yspace or something that's system of a down and turned the volume up all the way and continued their discussion, completely unphased at my subtle hints to SHUT UP! So now, I'm even more distracted and even more annoyed and listening to Interpol, System of a Down, and two stupid guys blabbing on about the intricate chemistry of each and every song on System of a Down's and Tool's albums. I'm gonna lose my fucking head. I am way too ADHD for this. God, i just wanna go to sleep and this is not helping.
"...sleep tight, grim rite, we have two hundred couches where you can sleep tight..."
Oh, good God, Paul, please lend me a couch for just one night. If you're feeling particularly generous, you can let me keep it because the one in my apartment is a comlete piece of shit. | | |
| Oh my gosh. I think it just hit me. Exactly two weeks from now, I'll be married. Haha! I couldn't have asked for a better man, a better family or a better anything! This is gonna be so amazing! | | |
